Hi! I’m Jennifer Kavouniaris, a 2022 candidate for Fremont School Board.
I am ready to serve the educators, students, and taxpayers of Alameda County. As a Fremont mother, grandmother, small business owner and taxpayer, I care deeply about our district’s education standards, teachers, and use of tax dollars. We must give our schools and teachers the resources necessary to foster the best possible learning environment for our students. I will be a voice for parents, students, teachers, and all Fremont residents who want to hold our district to the highest of standards.
As your elected Board Member, I will focus on the functions of the board—policy, curriculum, expenditures and building programs. No special interests or politics. I will bring trust and transparency to all taxpayers. I am committed to improving the quality of education in our community.
I am concerned about the challenges that our students have had to overcome in recent years. The dramatic declines in our nation’s academic standards, student morale, and even student safety are alarming. This is why I am running for school board. I want to bring back Advanced Placement classes in our high schools. I want to keep school resource officers (SROs) on our school campuses to help keep our students safe. And I want to give parents more of a voice in, and greater access to the decision-making process within the Fremont Unified School District.

The reason why I'm running for school board is because I'm passionate about your education and we have one chance to get this right to give you the 21st century education that you deserve.
And we need to be able to recruit good teachers. It's not just about the money. Teachers want to change the world, but many in the district have to beg for funds to support for their programs and classes. I am asking parents to elect me so I can work to give teachers the support that they deserve.
There are many controversial policies mandated by state law like gender education. I will uphold state law, but I will do it in a way that will be responsible. I will make sure that gender curriculum will be taught at an age-appropriate level when students are mature enough to process what is being taught and it will also involve communication with parents.
